FAQ

Show Me Your Core is a SFW zine revolving around robots. This particular zine focuses on showcasing each artist's favorite robot oc of theirs! In this zine, contributors will be showing off what makes their robot special in their heart.

What we're aiming for in terms of the theme is a sci-fi tech showcase magazine. Each robot will have a small written blurb about themselves, whether it's about what's special about their design, personality, or what thoughts were put into their creation!

The character illustrations can be profile shots, half bodies or full bodies. Ensure that enough room is left to incorporate the character blurb.

NSFW/R-18 pieces will not be allowed in this zine, suggestive pin ups have to be tasteful. If your robot has gore themes, artist must request admin and mods for approval.

Overall, this zine focuses on robots that have a very mechanical appearance. If you're unsure if an OC of yours qualifies, ask a mod.

  • Mecha and other large machines
  • Industrial-like bots with big, blocky frames
  • Futuristic bots that are sleek and/or angular
  • Object heads (as long as the whole body is also robotic)
  • AI machines that may not even have a physical avatar (not to be confused with genAI)
  • Androids that are human passing/look like humans with panel lines on their skin
  • Fandom OC robots (Exos, Cybertronians, Bionicles, etc.)
  • Cyborgs/Augmented characters that are visibly organic

This will be a for-profit zine funded by kickstarter. 4 months after the preorder releases, artists are allowed to sell their personal prints on their own shops.

This will be a digital zine, with a selection of bundles available including a variety of merchandise including prints, stickers, and potentially charms and/or magnets. Unfortunately, due to recent political circumstances, we will not be able to make and print physical copies of the zine.

The full contributor team will range from 30-40 artists with 6 mods and admin.

Artists will be creating 1pg illustration with the chance of requesting a double spread illustration. (Note that there will only be 5 spots for a double spread due to space. If you have a double spread and wish to share it with another artist and collab, that is allowed.)

Merch will be handled by mods, however artists can reach out to be a part of the merch side if they wish to draw some of the chibi stickers. You must have experience drawing chibis!

Contributors will receive a free digital copy of the zine, along with stickers and other trinkets.

Artists will be able to preview sneak peeks of their pieces before the zine is published. Cropped and/or censored previews are allowed, but not the entirety of the piece. Once the zine kickstarter is out, the artists will be able to share the entire illustration they made on their socials.

  • Check-in 1 is on October 10th
  • Check-in 2 is on December 10th
  • Check-in 3 is on January 8th

Final submissions of art pieces will be on January 25th 2026, with a week grace period if necessary.

The kickstarter will launch on February 11th 2026.

Illustrations will be drawn in A5 (5.83 in x 8.27 in) at 300dpi, and the colour profile will be sRGB IEC61966-2.1. This profile is the default for most programs, but some Apple-exclusive products like ProCreate use P3 by default. If you draw on an iPad, check the profile of the file before submitting!
